A release can be uniquely referenced by a version. The version must not be empty. You can share the same version between different parent products, but the versions are not related in any way.
A release can be assigned to an optional parent release train and an optional channel.
During uploading artifacts, you have to assign the for which of your releases the artifact is designated to.
